2008

Update on our stuff: We rang in the New Year with a fun party at our place where we drank and feasted and were generally stupid until late in the evening! Good times had by all I imagine!

Then of course I got sick, this time I managed to acquire Tonsillitis and Sinusitis in the same time. I went to the doctor when I couldn’t swallow anymore and had a fever. Ah well, thank God for anti-biotics, I’m back on my feet kicking and dancing.

My mom had surgery to have her gallbladder out. The defective little thing came out without any complications, but the recuperation is always a pain (literally). I’m pleased to report she is back to work, doing half days and catching up. She’ll be 100% in no time at all!

Ron has been hunting and hunting and hunting, but he did find time to take a drive to Sandy Hook with me to see some Historic lighthouses in Atlantic Highlands. The Twin Lights of Navesink are no longer operational, but they are beautifully old, and have an interesting history. There is a small museum and gift shop located there as well, and a great view of the Sea. Afterwards we went to Fort Hancock a (mostly) abandoned naval base in Sandy Hook. Ron had visited several times before while fishing, but I had never seen it before. Really rather creepy!

Overall, it’s been a good time in New Jersey.

Goodbye 2007 and Hello 2008!

I hope this is how everyone spent their New Years Eve...
