230th Battle of Monmouth!! June 21 & 22

If you can find the time I highly suggest that you attend one of the two days that the Battle of Monmouth will be commemorated.
This year is the 230th anniversary of the battle and re-enactors love key years like this. They go all out. This year promises to be the largest Revolutionary War re-enactment in the country!
There will be 67 British and American regiments attending which will include reg infantry, militia, artillery, mounted infantry/cavalry, and loyalists.

The event is fun for all ages! You can:
-tour the park's museum and learn about the battle.
-watch a talk on Molly Pitcher
-children can march around with toy muskets and drill like a soldier.
-Tour the British and American camps
-Shop at the sutlers selling period items
-watch a talk about artillery during the period and see a demonstration.
-watch the battle!!

Whew...

Well, Ron and I are just about moved in to our new place. Rather, we're completeley moved in just not organized. Last Saturday (was it really only one week ago) we moved every piece of stuff that we managed to collect over the course of a few years into our new apartment. We were so fortunate to have alot of help that made it much more manageable and everything was moved in 4 hours! (that means out of the old and loaded into the new) Today, Ron and I (mostly Ron) finished cleaning out the old apartment and cleaned it up. We dropped off our keys and Ron took a few moments to reflect on the time we spent in our old place. Here's some pictures of the new place.

You can see some of our paint job, the new place is very close to Westfield which is wonderful! I went there today and visited WIlliams-Sonoma and bought and overpriced sifter and had lunch with friends. (All while poor Ronald-o slaved away in Piscataway). I've got to find a way to make that one up...maybe sausage soup?

But best of ALLLLLLL Jon and Katie came to visit! Hurray it was wonderful to see them and their sweet and adorable baby..ahem..little boy, Erich! Good times!

A Little Update

Sorry for the lack of updates!!

Let's see...a whole lot has happened since the last update.

We finally got an upstairs apartment at Riverside Village. The bad news is we are 45 yards or so form the train tracks. It's a freight train so it's not too bad but hopefuly we'll get used to it.

We visited the the father of the litter of puppies we hope to get our puppy from. We also met the mother's daughter. The mother was too pregnant and was at the vet's preparing for birth. The breeder has really nice facilities and the dogs were very laidback and friendly, especially in the house. Also, the father looked like he had a strong retrieving instinct, they all did frankly. So, apparently we passed our "interview" so i'm trying to get in touch with the breeder. I'll call her today to see what's up.

Last Tuesday (3/11/08) the litter was born.
PICS OF LITTER

We're hoping for a male and there's a little confusion over the puppies sex. Nikki and I are hoping for a chocolate or black male. In one spot on the breeders website she says there were 0 chocolate males and 1 black. At the link I provided the breeder says there's 2 chocolate males and 1 black male. I'm calling the breeder today to find out the story!

We also painted the apartment this past weekend. The Living room has an accent wall with medium blue, entire bedroom is a pine green and the kitchen has an accent wall with a yellow orange. We'll add some pics soon. I can't help but think how much of a pain in the butt it'll be to repaint this when we move from this place but it looks nice at least!!

This Saturday we're hoping to do the bulk of the move with a u-haul. Ugh I hate moving.
We'll try not to wait 2 months for the next update!! :)
